Who We Are
New York Islanders Field Hockey Association is an active field hockey club (men and women) located in the Northeast USA. Players participate in the North East Field Hockey Association's league (NEFHA) out-of-state and international tournaments.
Founded in 1977, the group was made up of Caribbean nationals who moved to the US, many of them went on to represent the US in field hockey on the international stage.
In 1997, Islanders merged with the New York Field Hockey club to be New York Islanders (NYIFHA).
The New York Islanders are made up of a great group of competitive athletes who have two things in common: A love of the game and a love for having fun while playing it. Unique from some of the other teams, NYI are made up of players from various parts of the U.S. mainly NY, NJ, CT, PA and the Caribbean. As NY Islanders, we actively participate in NEFHA and strive to provide as many field hockey opportunities as possible by participating in tournaments both local and abroad. If you are looking for a competitive yet social club to join, this is the club for you!
